Baptist Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cups - shortening
  2. 1 sticks - margarine
  3. 3 cups - sugar
  4. 5 - eggs
  5. 3 cups - plain flour
  6. 1/2 teaspoons - baking powder
  7. 1 cups - milk
  8. 1 teaspoons - vanilla

Directions:

Cream together the butter, shortening and sugar. Add one egg at a time, beating after each addition.

Sift flour. Add baking powder to the flour and sift again.

Add milk and flour, alternately, to original mixture. Add vanilla.

Pour into greased and floured tube pan; place in cold oven.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
