You can use any combination of chips, nuts and dried fruits totaling 3 cups or less with the basic dough. Dad's favorite is 12 ounces of white chocolate bar, coarsely chopped, and one cup of dried cranberries. Your Aunt Linda adds cinnamon to the dough, it tastes yummy. This dough freezes well--freeze scoops of dough on a cookie sheet till firm, then put all the balls in a ziplock bag to store. Thaw the frozen dough before baking.

Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups - all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoons - baking soda
- 1 teaspoons - salt
- 1 cups - butter (2 sticks) softened
- 3/4 cups - granulated sugar
- 3/4 cups - light brown sugar packed
- 1 teaspoons - vanilla
- 2 - large eggs
- 6 ounces - semisweet chocolate chips jumbo if available
- 6 ounces - milk chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Let butter sit out at room temperature to soften, or heat in microwave for 30 seconds.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl and set aside.
Beat butter, sugars, and vanilla till creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition. Gradually add flour mixture and beat till completely mixed. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by heaping spoonfuls or use a small scoop to make balls. Cook on ungreased pan for 9-11 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes, then place on cookie rack to finish cooling.
